PICTURES AND EMAILS FROM WONDERFUL PEOPLE WHO ADOPTED OUR PUPS

LaGirlE/LagirlE54.jpg

Hi Nan--Thanks for having us on Saturday. We had fun picking out Buffy and we love the new picture of her on your site and the video of Lapowka and her pups. Your operation is as impressive in-person as it is on your website and facebook. I loved seeing all the dogs in-person after seeing their pictures on the computer. I also loved seeing how you keep them and how their living space and yours is side-by-side and how they overlap--it is no wonder that your dogs are happy and healthy. Also, I think that the varied terrain of the dogs' space is especially nice too. All in all, we had a fun day and thanks for having us! We will keep in touch--Karen.

Bella.jpg

Here are a few photo's of Bella, she continues to be the love of our lives. She is now 16 months old and growing like a milk weed, is not a meat eater, loves scrambled eggs and duck jerky. She also has the bassett sweet tooth as she will take you down for a "Bit o Honey", I get frisked everytime I come through the door, and if I forget I have something for her she reminds me. She loves to run in her 1/2 acre fenced in yard, and boy can she fly, I've never seen a hound run as fast as she can. She has now found her voice, she can bellow with the best of them. I am sorry for not updating you more frequently, but raising her and trying to work sometimes is a full time event, will try to do better in the future. Once again Thank You for enriching our lives with this wonderful little girl. Your Friends, Sam and Reba  10/03/2011

lillyclover.jpg

Here are some informal pictures of Lilly and Clover. They are getting big. Ten days ago at their second check-up, Lilly was almost 19 pounds and Clover was about 15 pounds. I am certain that they are several pounds heavier now. Although clearly somewhat lighter, I think Clover is going to catch up and also be a pretty big dog. So far, they have paid no attention to the wild turkeys or cats on the other side of the fences. However, the chipmunks, squirrels and our resident woodchuck have evacuated the yard. It is a start. Do you want me to take a more formal picture of each puppie for your records; You know, full side view in "show stance"? If so, at what point? Regards, Mark  9/13/2011

Bennie is doing awesome!! Growing like crazy. He goes in for another check up on Friday, I can't wait to see how much he weighs. I love him so much, he is so mellow and such a good boy. He listen (to me) very well. He follows me everywhere....I talk to him and he talks back with a grunt, whine or his funny little bark. He's perfect :) Terri   9/21/2011

Nan, I hope you received picture of Maggie and Sophie. They are both so beautiful and funny. Potty training is going very well Maggie goes to the the door when she has to go out and of course Sophie follows. We are very pleased. I sent pics and then wonder if your mailing address was the same as your physical address I sure hope you received them . We hope you enjoy them as much as we do. Oh yes I wanted to tell you Maggie is the digger she is digging holes in the snow piles. We wonder where she thinks she is going. Our enjoyment of them is unbelievable. I can not even think of them alone they made a wonderful pair and I would tell anyone to get two they are sure happy together. Our problem is when one of them can't find the other the barking and crying that goes on so I step in to help. Let me know if you got the pictures and your new Girl is BEAUTIFUL!  1-26-2011

vetJazz2.jpg

Hi Nan,Thanks for sending me your new email address. I just wanted to send you a quick mail that Jazz is doing great. She’s absolutely wonderful. We couldn’t have asked for a better puppy. My husband’s fallen for her already .. he’s upstairs playing with her now. J Attached are some pics. My favorite is the one of her asleep waiting for her vet appointment.   So we went to the vet this afternoon and they gave her a clean bill of health.        I’d be more than happy to be a client reference if you need one. Thanks again, so much. Kathryn - 09/30/2010

Hi Nan, Just a note to tell you that Wilbur is doing great.  He has been right at home since he arrived.  He only cried for about a minute and then slept the first night, and has not really cried at night since.  He is sleeping is a bit of a smaller kennel and loves it.  I leave the door off of it during the day and he just goes in there to take his naps.  I bring the kennel into our bedroom at night and he is fine, I won't be doing that when he grows into the kennel he shipped in.  So hopefully he will not get to used to sleeping in our room.  He is such a joy.  Housetraining is going well, but I take him outside frequently and spend a lot of time outside with him.  I had him to our vet yesterday and and have to take him back for another shot on the 27th.  I took a stool sampe to the vet with us and he tested it for parasites and it was negative.  He takes his last pills tomorrow and then I will worm him.  Thank you so much for him, he is a wonderful hound.  Greg.  8/17/2010

Hi Nan----Thank you so much for the pics-we truly loved them all--Chelsea really blended into the woodwork so to speak on the last pic-wasn't for her beautiful markings on her face-she would've had to smile to see her LOL.  I'm very pleased to have found your site-you've been a business person and a friend throughout.  You told me in the very beginning-don't be afraid to ask questions-you 've been there consistently for us w/ our pic requests and welcomed me at your home on the spur of the moment! And the priceless part is receiving two lovely girls (Hounds) that will definitely will help tremendously in filling the emptiness I still carry for Chloe---Thank you and May God Bless You more than he already has!!!!!!   Dave    08/03/2010

Hi, Nan:
Just a quick note to let you know that Inga is adjusting very well to her new home.  She is now eating a normal amount and our Vet gave her a "clean bill of health".  Thank you very much for this wonderful addition to our family.  I have attached some photos that were taken today after she and her new friend, Winnie, returned from the groomer.
My contractor is building an enclosed kennel so that Inga can enjoy outside play time in a safe environment.  I will send you photos after it is completed.  We may consider a Basset puppy in the future.  If so, we would desire a female with a similar temperament as Inga and she would be kept as a pet.
I will keep you informed as Inga further adjusts to her new home.
Best regards,
John and Patti    07/2010

 Nan,

Smoltz is an absolute delight.   When we got him home, he and Maddux played like they were old friends.  Smoltz also figured out the doggy door in just a few minutes.  He loves to play and is quite scrappy and not at all timid with Maddux who is more than twice his size at nearly 60lbs.  This morning Smoltz clamped down on Maddux's left ear and then got pulled around the den floor; I wished we had a video camera handy!  My daughter is sure that he will eventually be the alpha dog in our home.  He also loves human attention and is particularly fond of munching on my toes and fingers.  His appetite is truly robust, he's energetic, and seems perfectly healthy in every way.  I must say you and Dan raise spectacular bassets, well done.  He will be a joy to love ans spoil for a great many years.

I will send updates from time to time so you can follow his development.

Thanks again for a wonderful addition to our family,

Joe  3/11/10

Hi Nan!
First of all, i have to say that this email is long overdue, I've been meaning to send this for sometime now.
I just wanted to tell you how much we love and adore our little Bailey. She has brought us so much joy! She is 13 weeks old now, 14 on Sunday. She is such a little sweetie, she LOVES to play with Craig when he gets home, loves her bath time and loves taking walks. She is extremely friendly with other dogs and people, and gets very excited when they come to say hello. We couldn't have created a better dog for us, she is amazing. Thank you so much for her!! Attached are a few pictures we thought you might enjoy. Oh, and your new bassets are beautiful, congrats on them!!
 God bless, Craig and Kendel

Hi Nan,

I just wanted to share a couple of birthday pictures of our Stella.  She was born last year on June 16th to Boo and Buck.  She was quite a sport and tolerated the birthday hat just long enough for me to snap a couple of photos.  Feel free to use these on your website if you wish.  She is a wonderful dog with a very sweet temperament.  She gets along so well with the kids and the 2 cats.  Hope all is well with you and your family and thanks again for such a wonderful dog!

Hi Nan~
I just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know how Hercules is doing. As you can see from the photo, he has a rough time. He gets to come with me to work everyday and gets constant attention from all of our agents and everyone that comes into the office. I know that he enjoys being with us all day long, but I almost think he would prefer to be outside. He is doing excellent with his house training. We are so happy to have him in our family.

Hello Nancy,

I wanted to thank you for such a great Basset Hound. Flash, son of Daisy and Buck (born September 18th) is sleeping on the couch next to me as I write this email. He brings great joy to our household. I will send you some digital pictures when I get a chance. I am curious to know if any of his brothers are still around, even though I don't think my wife will let me get another one. Thanks again and have a great weekend!

Hello,

I wanted to take a moment to tell you what beautiful Bassets you have! They're some of the finest I've ever seen.
Great Looking Ears!!!

-----------------------

Of course, Nan! I would be happy to give you and your dogs a great reference!
Cruiser is doing great...he is such a sweet, happy, energetic, beautiful
boy! He is everything good that we had hoped and prayed for! I can hardly
wait for you to see him again!

---------------------

Hi Nan

Sure, That would be fine, have nothing but good things to say about your service and quality of your dogs.

----------------------------

Hi Nan!

Every now and then, Emily or I browse on your website to see what's
happening on Corkey Hill! It's such a happy, relaxing thing to do! But
oh, snakes in Basset Hound Heaven? Oh no!

Cruiser gets more lovable by the day...if that is possible! He is such a
happy guy...and he makes everyone who meets him happy too! He and Bruce
continue to walk for almost an hour each morning, Cruiser always looking
for any two- or four-legged creature to meet and greet!

I hope and pray that you are having good days (and nights too), and that
all is well with your family. Thank you for providing us with such great
entertainment...through Cruiser and through your website too!

Have a wonderful Summer!

Catherine

Thanks for the address.  Wilma is a little on the small side.  But what a sweetheart!  She has the best temperament on a dog that I have ever experienced.  I'm really happy with them both.  They are great bassets!  I will send more pictures as they grow.
Happy Holidays!

Hi Nan-
I hope you and your beautiful hounds are all doing well. I wanted to send
you some cute pictures of Murphy that were just taken last week. He's the
funniest dog with so much personality and attitude. He loves everyone and
everyone loves him.
I wanted to get one of your recent female puppies but my husband says no,
and he makes sense right now, because we still have our 12 year old hound
Napoleon and his health is deteriorating. Rest assured when the time comes
we will be back for a basset girl from you. I hope you got our Christmas
card with Napoleon and Murphy together.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy the pictures. Feel free to put any of them on your
website should you so desire.
Take care,
Annika

YokoPupsJune2010/YgirlBfortest.jpg

Ms. Corkey,

Isabella, the puppy formerly known as Yoko's girl B is absolutely the sweetest little girl I have ever seen, She rode in her little crate asleep all the way to Knoxville, Tn., we stopped and I gave her a few morsels of food that you sent with us and some water, let her run around and use the bathroom and then she rode all the way in to her new home in Alabama asleep. You were right she eats like a little horse and she is 100% Bassett Hound all the way, she is already a couch pig, and loves her new home, already learned how to go upstairs and is well on her way to being housebroken. She has made friends with the Akita in the front yard and is best buddies with her George (our mid size rescued dog) they play until neither of them can go anymore then they pile up in George's bed and sleep like little logs snoring all the way.

Once again I have to say Thank You so very much for letting us bring her into our home, and you can be assured she will be well taken care of and never want for anything in our power to provide to her. She is scheduled to go to the vet tommorrow and I can't wait for him to see her, everyone that has seen her is just fascinated at how beautiful and how sweet she is. I am almost afraid to give her a bath for fear of her melting she is so sweet.

Thank You and
God Bless You,
Sam & Reba   9/13/2010

Hi Nan-
I just wanted to wish you Happy Holidays and let you know how well
Bailey is doing! He is a little angel and behaves just like an adult dog
even though he is 8 months!!! He loves to ride in the car...I think it was
from his long ride back to Illinois. I just bought him a luxury bed the
other day and he loves it!!! He doesn't even want to get up!!! I hope to
send you a picture of him once I get this digital camera thing down. Take
care and enjoy your Christmas!

Hi Nan -
I'm not sure if you remember me, but I bought a basset puppy from you this past January, I bought the baby basset who was the only one of his litter, from Floyd and Ellie Mae.  I've been meaning to write and let you know how wonderful he's doing, we named him Rufus, and although he was so tiny at first, he has grown into a very happy and healthy dog.  He turned one year old around Thanksgiving, and every day he brings more joy (and humor!) into our lives.  I've attached a few pictures that were taken over the last year for your enjoyment.  Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Best,
Sarah W.

Monroe2012.jpg

Hi Nan, Here are some new pictures of Monroe at 6 months old. (Feel free to post on your website or Facebook if you’d like.) He is SO cute, and I’m always getting stopped by people asking about him and complimenting his looks. He is the best, and I just love him!! I know I’ve said this before, but he is hilarious. He does the funniest things. You’ve said that Jozin has a funny personality, and Monroe definitely inherited that trait! He has such a great temperament – he loves everyone and is the happiest dog I’ve ever seen. Thanks! Alison

Bently.jpg

Hi Nan & Dan!

Just wanted to drop you a quick note and let you know we made it home safely and "Bentley" couldn't have been better.  He slept on our laps the majority of the 8 hour drive, we stopped 4-5 times and he did his business each time and even pooped once, had some food/water and was just a happy little boy.  He started to a cry a bit once we got him home and in the house but once our boys got home it became apparent he has determined they are his new "pack" and played and jumped all over them, they are the perfect size for him!  We ate, very well- no problems with that and only had one accident and that was our fault.  I'm also happy to report he slept in his crate from 10pm-715am and aside from a few moans at first, he didn't make a peep all night.  He gets to met his new Vet tomorrow morning.  I have to say he is still less than thrilled with his collar but he is adjusting to the leash.

Thanks again for everything and we'll keep you posted.  We couldn't be happier with our first 24 hours and are just so excited to have him as part of our family.  Hope all is well!  2-10-2011

Nan-

We just wanted to give you a quick update on Yogi. He is growing fast, 30 lbs to date.  He loves people and other dogs. He is the most friendly, kind and sweet dog we know. He loves going to doggy daycare and playing all day with his puppy friends. He is enjoying being a city dog. Here are a few pictures of him as of last week. We hope all is well and thanks for putting Yogi into our lives. We couldn’t be happier.

Leslie and Cory and Yogi too!!

Hi Nan
Just wanted to send you a new photo of Angus. He is growing up, and he is going to be a very handsome dog. He still has his sweet personality too! He goes next Friday for his final round of puppy shots, he is healthy and loves his puppy chow! Hope you enjoy the pic. Talk to you soon,

.................................................................
Hi Nan -
Thanks again for everything yesterday - it was good to meet you and Dan and the entire "Corkey Family". Bogart (our name for Male C) got home fine and seems to be as curious as ever.
I have fenced off our kitchen and placed newspaper on the floor, with his crate open so he can go in and out during the day.
In the evenings we plan to let him play around our living area (we have a small house, so he's not running wild). We'll bring out the little crate and leave the door open with his toys so he gets used to going in and out of it while we're here (and not view it as punishment or something) we're so excited to have him and I've read too much and thought I'd come to you as the expert for some advice:)
Thanks again, and we'll send pictures soon!
Cheers,
Jon and Jen

............................................................................................................

Dear Nan & Dan:

Jo and I had a very enjoyable trip back to NJ.
The trip took an extra hour because we stopped to
play with the puppies (about four times).

A party of my daughters' friends greeted them.
They (the pups) were so tired last night that I didn't have
to put them in the dog crate. They slept right
through the night.

This morning, Theodore got up, went out, and promptly
peed and poohed. What a good boy!

The only problem is my girls don't want to go to
school, and my wife does not want to go to work.
They just want to stay home and watch the puppies.

When convenient, please let me know how often you have been
feeding the puppies. We fed them a bit on the way up, and
we let them eat what they wanted (very little) last night.
They were ravenous this morning.

Take care to you and yours. Good luck with your
"white" bassets.

John L

Hi Nan:

I just took a look at your new web page.  It looks great.  Lots of nice photos.

Speaking of photos – I was curious if you had any new ones of our boy?  We love to see his progress, so if you ever have a minute we would certainly love to see some new pictures!

My parents’ pup is doing great.  They had him in for his first vet visit and he is adjusting well to Wisconsin.  Apparently, the neighbors love him (as do my parents!)

I hope all is well. Take care,

Cory D.
